Construction Manager
2 year contract opportunity
Pay: $52.00/hr.
40 hours a week

Position Overview: This employee functions as a member of the local supervisory team and oversees all functions associated with construction management for all capital projects and will work directly with engineering, facilities, maintenance, finance and safety on the job site. The right individual will drive the means and method for construction and work closely with contractors to schedule the construction activities. They will provide input and direction to scheduling as well as insight on change notices and financial reporting. They will advise and direct activities which impact facilities and maintenance activities at the site for capital projects for the engineering portion of the organization. This position will interact with other departments to support operations and ensure that both the site and departmental responsibilities are met as part of the project delivery model.
Major Position Activities & Responsibilities:
· Drive day to day construction activities for multiple capital projects
· Support site safety
· Will participate in the review of scope changes and vendor/contractor change orders
· Work with the construction team to provide critical lift plans for equipment installations
· Provide input on Construction schedule
· Execute means and methods for all construction activities on site
· Coordinate plant with other departments for site wide outages for construction activities
· Develop and drive the enforcement of Build Clean Protocols
· Will review all construction bids and provide basis for vendor selection for site led projects
· Support and provide training on site safety requirements
Scope:
· Coordinate between Engineering, Finance and Maintenance departments as well as project staff on cost related issues
Background Qualifications:
· 10 years of experience managing capital projects related to manufacturing facilities with Life Science industry
· Ability to lead and manage contractors in the execution of projects up to $500mm
· Ability to lead and manage design teams working directly with a Project Manager on projects greater than $100mm
· Strong safety culture both from design safety to field construction execution
· Strong working knowledge and experience interfacing with multiple contractors and design disciplines to successfully deliver projects
· General engineering knowledge that are key to the successful implementation of Life Science projects including infrastructure, process, utilities, and support facilities
· Ability to work closely with project controls, document control and admin teams for support during project construction delivery efforts
· Field engineering support to provide project engineering during construction
· Previous engineering and design experience working as a member of a project team
